UPDATE: This event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But nature is still open for business! Please be safe and keep your distance from others while you enjoy the fresh air. And feel free to pick up some trash while you're at it!

In celebration of Earth Day 2020, Humboldt Baykeeper will host the biannual Tuluwat Island kayak paddle and cleanup on Saturday, April 18. Thanks to the California Coastal Conservancy, it’s FREE – kayaks, gear, and guides provided – but RSVP is required, and space is limited.

Humboldt Baykeeper has partnered with the Wiyot Tribe and HSU's Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center to provide you with all the necessaries (kayak, lifevest, wetsuit, trained guides) to paddle out to Tuluwat Island, where we’ll remove trash that has washed up or blown off the Samoa Bridge. Free! No experience needed! For folks 12 and older. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sturdy shoes. Space is limited - Sign up early! RSVP required.
