On Monday, May 19 at 1:30 pm the Board of Supervisors will have the opportunity to undo some of the damage done to the Open Space Element by the HumCPR-dominated Planning Commission.

 

Tell the Board of Supervisors to reinstate the goal of a county-wide trail system, express stronger support for community forests, and stand firm on protecting open space throughout Humboldt County!

A few months ago, the County Planning Commission voted to remove the long-supported goal of a county-wide trail system from the Open Space Element of the County's General Plan Update. They also weakened the County's goal to support land acquisition for community forests and watered down many other policies relating to protecting forests, farms and open space.

 

Come to the hearing May 19 at 1:30, or let your Supervisors know what you think via phone or email (see below for contact info).
